External and internal communication professionals around the world are invited to take part in a new study into how they approach planning.

The survey looks at what people include in their plans and what gets in the way of implementation. It aims to understand why there seem to be such wide variations in practice across all branches of communications. There are differences in the importance given to strategic planning and frustrations that plans are sometimes not seen through. The study will look for find patterns in how stakeholders are involved in planning, what elements are included in plans and what other factors seem to correlate with robust planning.

Conducted by communication consultant Liam FitzPatrick with ICPlan.com, the survey is live for a few weeks and the researchers hope to publish their findings in September.
